A little Creek Fishing help Required
Hey Guy's
I have been fishing a few creeks in and around the Bracebridge/Huntsville area for the past few days now in search of the all might brookie, I have read up on a few creeks that potenially hold decent numbers with the help of stocking programs but in the end I have been skunked every outing. I have fished the Muskoka (North sections) with no luck for Brownies, I have fished the Big East River by arrowhead with no luck at all for Brookies and have fished Sharpes creek in Bracebridge with no luck. I have used everything from spinners to worms and have only caught chub, any one have any info on where I should start or are these places good but just not producing yet. Thanks guys and I hope someone can lead me in the right direction.
Steve

Re: A little Creek Fishing help Required
Hey Steve! I was up on the Big East River (closer to algonquin ) last Sunday and caught three Brookies but it took me many casts to catch them. I caught them on a mepps xd spinner #3 with gold blades and a yellow tail. It was funny though cause It seemed like they went on spurts for biting, as soon as the blackflies started biting nicely so did the fish (smallies where also hammering my spinner) I caught all of my brookies on noticeable creek structures. I'm kinda new to brook trout fishing but from what I understand and read about them they are a very structure orientated fish like a bass.

Re: A little Creek Fishing help Required
Nice brookie, and thanks for your help. I tried in all the so called hot spots that typically should hold them, there's one spot I go to on Sharpes Creek that you would swear should hold lots of fish, deep hole with under water logs and rock and a small water fall at the top, all I got were creek chub. I tried under the Hwy #11 bridge and around the sand dunes on the Big East by Arrowhead with no luck, also up under the bridge off of Williamsport same thing. If you dont mind me asking were do you access the river and do you shore fish or paddle? PM me if you'd like. Again thxs for the tip

Black River in Vancoughnet for speckled trout. Enter in town or right off hwy #118. I'm thinking of getting back into it as well, early early morning was always best bite... Small spinners tipped with worm.

Re: A little Creek Fishing help Required
Thank guys, I actually tried both places over the course of Friday and Today and had much luck up on the Big East...... Berend you were right, it is very remote up there, the road going in felt like forever to drive because of all the bumps and pot holes but well worth the venture, managed 2 small brookie in the course of 2 hours until I heard noises coming from the bush. Wayne I tried the Black today but had no luck at all, I fished right by the water fall in town, very nice area and well worth exploring more of. I'm always out looking for new places to fish and share some of my own so if you guys ever want some one to hook up with just send me a pm.
Thanks again guys
Steve

Glad I can help, if i ain't fishing it I'd rather see an eager angler like yourself utilize the river.
