 Rosseau Lakers
Hows everyone been doing with the lakers this year?
I've found it pretty hard to connect with them so far this year. Marking lots in the usual areas, but not alot of takers.

 Re: Rosseau Lakers
I'm having the same problem on Joe. Lots and lots of baitfish in the 100 foot area. I usualy troll in the morning and eventing. This year with no steady success,so I tried trolling mid afternoon and was more successful. A 5 and a 9 pounder caught at 4 in the afternoon last Saturday. Last year I found a good bite happening around 1 in the afternoon. Change thins up a bit.
I had my cannon balls set at 65 and caught one at 65 and one on the cheater.

 Re: Rosseau Lakers
I dont have down riggers on the boat yet so it been a bit more of challange to get the bait in front of the fish. I think with the warm temps pretty soon it will be easier to target them at the bottom.

 Re: Rosseau Lakers
I only put 4-5 feet on the cheater. Helps in netting the fish easier.

 Re: Rosseau Lakers
Another thing I consider......You reel the main lure to your top eye on the fishing rod. The length of your cheater should allow you to hook it onto the reel for storage. I guess with using a 9 foot ugly stick,my cheater would be more like 7.5 feet long.
